DILUVIO
Diluvio was first created in 2007 as an Audiovisual Art Collective. In 2009, Diluvio was founded as a legal Film Production Company in Santiago, Chile in order to produce its first feature film, Lucía, directed by Niles Atallah. Although now a Film Production Company, Diluvio continues to work in the spirit of an art collective, bringing together a vast array of artists and film professionals according to the needs of each project it undertakes.
Diluvio’s first project was a 2-part series of short films Lucía, Luis y el lobo (Lucía, Luis and the Wolf) by Cristóbal León, Joaquín Cociña and Niles Atallah. These short films went on to receive various awards at international film festivals including 1st Prize for Best International Film at “Fantoche International Animation Film Festival”, Switzerland (2009), the Grand Prix “Wooden Wolf” Prize at the “Animated Dreams Film Festival”, Estonia (2009), Grand Jury Prize for Best Short Film at FIBABC, Spain (2009), Literaturwerkstatt Berlin Prize at the “Zebra Poetry Film Festival”, Germany (2008) and 2nd Prize at the “Fairplay Film and Video Festival”, Switzerland (2008).
The fiction film Lucía marks the beginning of Diluvio’s effort in producing feature length films. For more information about the film Lucía visit the website. Diluvio’s latest project, the feature fiction film “Rey”, is currently in the Script & Project Development Stage. The project was selected to participate in the Pavillon Les Cinémas du Monde, Cannes Film Festival and at Cinema in Development 5, Rencontres Cinémas d’Amérique Latine de Toulouse, France in 2010.
